📋 Position Overview

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Supply Chain Planning: Design, execute, and optimize comprehensive logistics and transportation schedules for heavy industrial and structural components across European project sites. 🗺️
• Site Fleet & Transport Coordination: Oversee the dispatch, tracking, and routing of oversized freight, heavy-haul transport vehicles, and raw material carriers into complex urban and industrial construction zones. 🚛
• Inventory & Yard Management: Manage on-site material staging areas, storage yards, and warehousing facilities, maintaining real-time digital tracking of stock levels to prevent project bottlenecks. 📦
• Vendor & Contractor Negotiations: Source, vet, and manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and equipment rental companies to negotiate competitive rate cards and service level agreements. 🤝
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with structural engineers, site superintendents, procurement teams, and project managers to align delivery milestones with project timelines and blueprint specifications. 📐
• Regulatory Compliance & Permits: Ensure all transport operations adhere strictly to German and European transit laws, heavy-load permit requirements, environmental regulations, and occupational health and safety (OH&S) standards. 🛡️
• Risk Mitigation & Cost Control: Monitor logistics expenditures, identify variance drivers, implement cost-saving optimizations, and proactively resolve transit delays or supply chain disruptions. 💡

🛠️ Required Qualifications & Experience

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on logistics management experience within the heavy construction, steel fabrication, or civil engineering sector. ⏱️
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related technical field. 🎓
• Software Proficiency: Expert command of industry-standard engineering and logistics management tools, including AutoCAD and Revit (for site layout and spatial planning), STAAD.Pro or Tekla Structures (for understanding structural load capacities and component dimensions), alongside enterprise ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced TMS (Transportation Management Systems). 💻
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of European heavy transport regulations, permit acquisition frameworks, and site safety compliance protocols. 📜
• Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English; German language skills (spoken and written) are considered a significant advantage. 🗣️
