As a Design Engineer at KILONEWTONS, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and improving engineering systems, components, and products. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure every project meets performance, safety, and quality standards delivering innovative solutions that make a lasting impact.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
- 🧩 Design and develop mechanical, civil, or electrical systems based on project requirements.
- 📐 Create detailed 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications.
- 🧮 Perform calculations, simulations, and stress analysis to verify design integrity.
- 💡 Develop prototypes and test design functionality and feasibility.
- 🔍 Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety codes, and regulations.
- 🧰 Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to optimize solutions.
- 📊 Prepare documentation, reports, and design presentations for internal and client reviews.
- 🧭 Support the R&D team in improving product performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

💻 Required Skills & Software Proficiency
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design processes, and manufacturing methods.
- Proficiency in industry-leading software tools:
- AutoCAD / SolidWorks / CATIA / NX Siemens
- ANSYS / MATLAB / FEA Tools (for simulations)
- Revit / Inventor (for 3D modeling)
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing techniques, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and GD&T standards.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
- Excellent technical communication and teamwork abilities.
🎓 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Design Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in design and product development.
